Freshman Braylon Mullins hit a game-winning three to complete a 19-point comeback over Duke and send the Huskies to the Final Four. It took a spirited second half for UConn to win this game, including big plays from many of the Huskies’ veterans.
However, while UConn is full of experienced players, it was perhaps its most inexperienced player who came up huge. Mullins came to UConn to win championships, and he put the Huskies one step closer to doing just that.

Who is Braylon Mullins?
Braylon Mullins is UConn’s top-rated freshman this year, as he was the No. 12 recruit in the class of 2025, per 247 Sports. Mullins averaged 12 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, and he played in 30 games in his freshman season.
Mullins was born and raised in Indiana, and was named Mr. Basketball for the state in 2025.
After the game, Mullins explained his emotions behind the play and how excited he is to be going back to Indiana for the Final Four.
The freshman started 26 games for UConn this year, but didn’t have the kind of season that many of his other freshmen had. Instead, Mullins played a key role on a deep UConn team, and it paid off in the Elite Eight.
