Aric Almirola bounced off of Alex Bowman out of the final corner to make the pass for the lead and win Saturday’s GOVX 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Phoenix.
A late-race restart brought then-leader Justin Allgaier back to the field, and he missed the corner on the green-white checkered restart, opening the door for Almirola, Bowman and Brandon Jones.
Bowman left the bottom lane wide open through turns 3 and 4 on the final lap, and Almirola and Bowman both slipped up the track and into the wall with Almirola prevailing at the end.
