Florida State guard Ta’Niya Latson won’t declare for the WNBA draft this year.
The highly anticipated 2025 WNBA draft class, led by UConn’s Paige Bueckers, is full of elite talent that many WNBA teams could use. That list includes Ta’Niya Latson, who not only leads her team in scoring but also leads the entire country in points.
Still, Latson won’t be there in April when many of college basketball’s best move on to new teams. Why? She isn’t in any rush to. “Winning a national championship. That’s what I have to have left to accomplish, she recently told ESPN‘s Andrea Adelson. However, it isn’t just a ring that Latson is after. Her development matters, too.
“I feel like I still have room to grow, and I’m in no rush, no rush at all. I want to get my degree and finish out the greatness that I’ve accomplished here at Florida State.”
