Will Alabama basketball have chance at landing transfer Cedric Coward after Duke visit?

Alabama basketball is still in the fight for Washington State transfer Cedric Coward, but multiple sources are suggesting that it’s a losing battle.

After the Blue Devils denied its dreams of a historic national championship in March, the Crimson Tide found itself facing Duke once again, not in a showdown on the hardwood, but in the portal. Per reports from On3 recruiting insider Joe Tipton and The Field of 68 Network’s Jeff Goodman, should Coward not realize his NBA dreams in the coming months, Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer and his staff are winning the senior over.

Will Alabama basketball have chance at landing transfer Cedric Coward after Duke visit?

It doesn’t sound like Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats and assistant Preston Murphy are completely out of the running, although that could change after the 6-foot-6 guard takes his planned visit to Duke on Monday. Tipton noted that Coward is expected to make his decision this week.

Duke has yet to add a transfer portal commit this cycle while Alabama has earned commitments from three players in Noah Williamson (Bucknell), Taylor Bol Bowens (Florida State) and Jalil Bethea (Miami).
