William Byron became the fifth NASCAR Cup driver to win the Daytona 500 in back-to-back years on Sunday.
Byron took the lead on the backstretch during the final lap and held off Tyler Reddick and Jimmie Johnson in the race, which was delayed twice by rain and took more than four hours to complete.
The other back-to-back winners of the 67-year-old race include:
∎ Denny Hamlin 2019-2020
∎ Sterling Marlin 1994-1995
∎ Cale Yarborough 1983-84
∎ Richard Petty 1973-1974
Hamlin also won the Daytona 500 in 2016, Yarborough also won in 1977 and 1968 and Petty also won in 1981, 1979, 1971, 1966 and 1964.
