Wisconsin basketball forward Riccardo Greppi took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce his return for the 2025-26 season.
The 6-foot-10 forward joined the program before the 2024-25 campaign as an international signee. The Lecco, Italy, native appeared in nine games as a true freshman, playing in 21 total minutes and tallying eight points, 10 rebounds, one assist and a block. He was part of a larger reserve unit that has recently seen point guard Daniel Freitag, veteran guard Camren Hunter and forward Chris Hodges all enter the transfer portal.

Greppi could see his role expand significantly in 2025-26. The Badgers are currently in line to enter the season without much frontcourt depth, especially after Xavier Amos’ transfer departure. While the team has a terrific projected starting duo in Nolan Winter and Portland transfer Austin Rapp, Greppi and incoming freshman Will Garlock are currently the only depth players at the position.
Wisconsin is sure to bolster its frontcourt with further transfer additions. But with an overall lack of depth comes opportunity for a player like Greppi, entering his second year with the program.
“Let’s run it back,” the rising sophomore wrote on Instagram.
