Wisconsin’s nightmare 2025 season continued in Week 8, as the team fell 34-0 at home to Ohio State.
The loss dropped the team to 2-5 (0-4 Big Ten) on the 2025 season. It was also its second consecutive home shutout defeat, extending its streak of drives without a touchdown to 30. Since the team took its opening drive for a touchdown at Michigan, building a short-lived 7-0 lead, it has been outscored 95-3 (34-0 vs. Ohio State, 37-0 vs. Iowa, 24-3 vs. Michigan after the opening drive). By no surprise, that stretch of poor play and nonexistent offensive production has made a bowl trip almost impossible.

The question is no longer whether Wisconsin is primed for a sudden breakthrough under Luke Fickell, but rather whether the team is the worst in the Big Ten. Past that, it’s worth wondering where it has fallen in the broader college football landscape.
ESPN’s updated Football Power Index and SP+ give us a look at the latter.
