Wisconsin football extended an offer to highly-coveted class of 2027 running back Elijah Kimble on Thursday.
Kimble, who already boasts a four-star ranking from Rivals, immediately scales Wisconsin’s 2027 running back offer sheet. He joins Kemon Spell (Penn State) and Brayden Tyson (undecided) as the other four-star players at his position to receive an offer from Luke Fickell’s program at this stage of the recruiting cycle.
Rivals lists the Canisius High School product as the No. 193 overall recruit and No. 15-ranked running back for the class of 2027. As of Feb. 20, he has yet to receive ranking designations from On3, ESPN, or 247Sports.
Unlike most of his contemporaries, Kimble’s offer sheet is already littered with top-tier collegiate suitors.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete’s list of potential landing spots includes programs such as Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Wisconsin and West Virginia. In total, 16 programs have extended offers to the talented prospect.
At Canisius, Kimble primarily suits up at running back. He also takes snaps at outside linebacker. In 12 games as a sophomore, he logged 216 carries for 1,778 yards and a staggering 33 touchdowns. That equates to 148.2 yards per game for the recruit.
Rivals has yet to release any forecasts for Kimble, but On3’s prediction recruiting machine has pinpointed Ohio State as an early frontrunner to land the New York native at over 51%.
Still, it’s too early to tell where Kimble will wind up. UW will likely have to stave off dozens of programs in order to contend for the elite runner. Its recent success with running backs, however, could factor into his choice.
