Wisconsin makes final schools for class of 2026 cornerback target

by

Wisconsin football made the top 10 schools for class of 2026 cornerback Sean Johnson on Thursday.

The Badgers made his final list along with Virginia, Florida State, NC State, South Carolina, Maryland, Penn State, Indiana, Michigan State and Syracuse.

The Severn, Maryland, native is currently unranked by 247Sports, though Rivals lists him as a three-star recruit, the No. 37 cornerback and the No. 8 player from his home state. Given his impressive list of suitors, he should soon receive an industry consensus star rating.

Wisconsin extended its offer to the 6’1″ cornerback back on Jan. 2. Jack Cooper, Wisconsin’s new safeties coach, is spearheading his recruitment. Notably, Johnson was one of several 2026 recruits to schedule an official visit with the Badgers this week. He’ll be on campus during the weekend of May 31 – June 1.

As of Feb. 7, Wisconsin is Johnson’s only reported visit.

Wisconsin’s class of 2026 currently has just one player committed: Three-star offensive lineman Benjamin Novak. The Badgers had quarterback Jarin Mock pledged to the group before the program’s hire of new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes led to a top-down overhaul of the quarterback room, including its committed recruits.

The Badgers are looking to improve upon recent finishes of No. 27 and No. 25 in the last two classes, respectively. Johnson still has almost a full calendar year before he has to make a commitment.
