WNBA: Former Ohio State guard Jacy Sheldon traded to Connecticut Sun

Former Ohio State guard Jacy Sheldon will be spending her second season in the WNBA with a new team after being traded from Dallas Wings to Connecticut Sun on Sunday.

The trade was included in a four-team transaction that involved Dallas, Connecticut, Phoenix and Indiana. The deal included 13 players and five draft picks.

Sheldon was selected by the Wings with the No. 5 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Sheldon earned a starting spot and appeared in all 40 games, averaging 5.4 points and 2.5 assists.

The 24-year-old was expected to continue playing during the offseason after signing with Australia Women’s National Basketball League’s Townsville Fire in July. A leg injury kept her in the United States and instead she joined the Ohio State women’s basketball staff as director of player development.
