WNBA Reacts to Caitlin Clark’s Appearance in Old Photo

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is undoubtedly the most popular WNBA player today. In her rookie season in 2024, the team set viewership records on various networks, including ESPN, CBS Sports and NBA TV.

Clark, who has career averages of 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.4 steals across two seasons, continues to be a big draw in the pros.

That’s why any post about Clark garners plenty of interest, whether it be a simple workout or training video or a throwback post. On Tuesday, even the WNBA reacted after the Fever posted an old photo of Clark.

Indiana was celebrating Clark’s achievement of becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer (men’s and women’s) on the same date two years ago. With that said, the team opted to use a photo of Clark playing basketball when she was younger.

In the photo, the Fever wrote, “THIS IS WHO BECAME THE ALL-TIME NCAA LEADING SCORER.”

“this is who,” the Fever continued in the caption. “two years ago today, [Caitlin Clark] rewrote the record books and broke Pete Maravich’s 54-year-old record to become the [NCAA] all-time leading scorer.”

The WNBA, for its part, couldn’t help but take notice of the appearance of a young Clark.

“Baby CC,” the WNBA wrote.

For what it’s worth, Clark herself also reacted to the post, particularly the Fever’s photo decision.

However, the two-time All-Star wasn’t as impressed as the WNBA and other fans when it came to her appearance during her youth.
