No Caitlin Clark, no problem for the Indiana Fever. This was the case on Sunday, as the Fever secured a 93-78 victory over their rivals, the Chicago Sky, who were also missing the services of Angel Reese and several other players due to injury.

Kelsey Mitchell’s incredible performance spearheaded the Fever in the win. The three-time All-Star stuffed the stat sheet with a season-high 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting, to go along with two rebounds, six assists and three steals. Mitchell also knocked down seven out of her 10 attempts from deep as she made sure that there was going to be no upsets at United Center on Sunday.
Kelsey Mitchell Makes Fever Franchise History
The WNBA took to social media shortly after Indianaâs win to announce some historic news involving Mitchell and Clark, who sat out for a fourth straight game due to a lingering groin injury.

âKelsey Mitchell joins Caitlin Clark as the only players in @IndianaFever franchise history to record 35+ PTS, 5+ AST, and 5+ 3PM in a game!â the league posted on X.
Last season against the Dallas Wings, Clark dropped 35 points, eight assists and six triples in the Feverâs 110-109 win. Mitchell has now joined her Fever teammate in the franchise history books after her incredible outing against the Sky on Sunday.
Mitchell’s Injury Scare Against Sky
It is worth noting, however, that Mitchell had an injury scare in the first half of the game. The 5-foot-8 guard was seen holding onto her left groin after scoring a tough lay-up, which drew a concerned statement from head coach Stephanie White after the win.

Mitchell played through the injury, though, and didn’t appear to be bothered by the issue. Nonetheless, the 29-year-old will likely have to undergo tests to rule out any injury, which is the last thing the Fever need right now.
