On the latest episode of her podcast Unapologetically Angel, WNBA star Angel Reese told her mother she paid off her mortgage for her birthday.
The former LSU and Maryland player’s mother, who shares her name, presented her mom with cake and surprised her by saying her house was paid off and she could retire.
Her mother almost dropped the cake she was holding when she heard the news and became emotional.
“If you want to still work and keep yourself … busy, you can keep yourself busy,” her daughter said.
Though the younger Angel Reese is from Randallstown, it wasn’t clear where the house she paid off was. In the podcast clip, she also mentions plans to purchase property in Chicago, where she plays as a forward for the WNBA Chicago Sky.
