Following a fourth-quarter collapse to Creighton on Friday, the No. 25 Nebraska Cornhuskers returned home to host Kansas City on Tuesday night. The Huskers responded from their loss to the Blue Jays, blowing out the Roos 84-38.
Nebraska finished 25-of-66 from the field, 12-of-29 from beyond the arc and 22-of-28 from the free throw line. The Huskers also held Kansas City to 13-of-60 from the field, 1-of-14 from beyond the arc and 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Nebraska also held the Roos to single-digit points in two separate quarters and only allowed a high of 14 points in a quarter.
Callin Hake served a team-high 16 points and a career-high 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. Alberte Rimdal finished behind Hake, scoring 15 points by going 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Britt Prince delivered a near-perfect performance, scoring 13 points after going 4-of-5 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Lexi Markowski dropped 10 points and a team-high ten rebounds for her 43rd career double-double, extending her school record.
Amiah Hargrove rounded out Nebraska’s top-five scorers, landing 10 points and hauling in seven rebounds.
The Huskers improve to 6-1 on the season and will remain home for the next four games. Nebraska faces off against Lindenwood next Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT on B1G+.
