Wyoming Lands 2027 Verbal From Sectionals Finalist Paige Nguyen
NEW COMMIT: Fort Collins, Colo. native Paige Nguyen has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Wyoming beginning in Fall 2027. A Sectionals qualifier, Nguyen excels in breaststroke and sprint freestyle.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am incredibly honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Wyoming. I am forever grateful to my family for their love, support, and countless sacrifices that have allowed me to pursue my athletic interests. Thank you to my coaches and teammates at FAST for challenging me and helping me grow both in and out of the pool. A special thank you to Coach Quinn for your guidance, support, belief in me over the years, and the positive impact you have had on me as a person. Lastly, thank you to Coach Dave, Coach Sydney, and the entire Wyoming coaching staff for investing in me and allowing me to be a part of such an incredible program. I am so grateful for this extraordinary opportunity and can’t wait to begin this next chapter. Go Pokes!!”
Nguyen does her club swimming with Fort Collins Area Swim Team. She most recently earned four best times at the CSI Long Course Open last month. Back in March, she finished third in the 50 breast and fifth in the 100 breast at West Fargo Speedo Sectionals.
Her best times include:
- 50 breast – 28.99
- 100 breast – 1:03.04
- 50 free – 23.99
- 100 free – 53.58
A rising senior at Fossil Ridge High School, Nguyen helped her 4×100 free relay team place 11th at the 2026 Colorado 5A State Championships. As a sophomore in 2025, she placed 14th in the 50 free and 20th in the 100 breast at the state championship.
Wyoming finished seventh at the 2026 Mountain West Conference Championships. Nguyen’s best time in the 100 breast would’ve ranked second on the Pokes’ roster a season ago.
