The Xavier Musketeers received a commitment late Tuesday from Pape N’Diaye, a 7-foot transfer who played last season at UNLV.

N’Diaye, from the Ivory Coast, averaged 2.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 13.1 minutes per game last season as a freshman for the Runnin’ Rebels.

Xavier has now landed five players via the transfer portal as Richard Pitino and company assemble the 2025-26 roster. N’Diaye offers valuable rim protection after registering a 10.2 block percentage off the bench last season.

N’Diaye also fits the mold as a recruit the Musketeers can develop and retain with three years of eligibility remaining.

Originally a three-star recruit, N’Diaye was later ranked the No. 97 overall player in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports and the No. 15 center in the Class of 2024. His offer sheet included Kansas, Boise State, UCF and Xavier.

Lassina Traore, also born in the Ivory Coast, was expected to start at center last season at XU before he suffered a season-ending knee injury during an intrasquad scrimmage. Traore entered the transfer portal last week.
