Xavier Musketeers basketball to open Charleston Classic against Georgia Bulldogs

The final piece of the Xavier men’s basketball non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 campaign has been revealed.

According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Xavier will open the 2025 Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic against the Georgia Bulldogs at TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina, on Friday, Nov. 21.

Xavier will play either Georgia or West Virginia in the final round of the event on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Xavier is 3-2 all-time against Georgia though the last meeting went to the Bulldogs in the first round of the 2024 NIT.

Under head coach Mike White, Georgia reached the NCAA Tournament last season for the first time since 2015. The Bulldogs finished 20-13, reached the AP poll (No. 23) and lost to No. 8 Gonzaga in the first round.

In its only previous appearance in the Charleston Classic, Xavier reached the tournament’s title game in 2019 after beating Towson and UConn. Travis Steele’s Musketeers fell to Florida, 70-65, in the finals.

Xavier has an exhibition game at Cintas Center against Murray State on Saturday, Oct. 18. The Musketeers open the Richard Pitino era at home against Marist on Monday, Nov. 3.
