Your College Basketball Sunday Viewing Guide: January 18, 2026

by

Kind of a quiet day on the ol’ college basketball front, at least in terms of national television. This is mostly because of the NFL Playoffs, as ESPN is broadcasting one of the games and so obviously that means that the network is occupied from 11am Central through 5:30pm. We can ask why Fox is going with mostly affiliate programming until their prime time schedule and FS1 has motocross and timbersports instead of college basketball for most of the day, but that’s a different issue.

The majority of the 23 game national television schedule is women’s basketball, with the exception of four American Conference games, one Big Ten game, and one Big 12 game. The Big 12 one is by default the best of the men’s games today, as it involves #7 Houston at home.

The women’s side of things is decorated with a number of top 25 teams on the road today. The highlights there are four ranked vs ranked games, all between 1pm and 7pm. First it’s #20 Tennessee at #21 Alabama, then #6 LSU at #13 Oklahoma, then #12 Maryland at #3 UCLA, then finally #15 Michigan State at #11 Iowa. If you use “add the two rankings together, lowest number wins,” then the Maryland/UCLA game is your Game Of The Day.

There’s also #16 Ole Miss, #9 Louisville, and #19 Iowa State out on the road to keep your eye on today.

If you want to expand to streaming only options, #7 Kentucky on the road against Mississippi State is the highlight there. There’s a ton more games available there, so as always, if you find yourself drawn in by a streaming game, shout it out in the comments so everyone can catch on.

Here’s the full national television schedule for college basketball today, with all times Central, as always.
