MLS and Eastern Conference powerhouse FC Cincinnati have missed out on the chance to bring one of the game’s biggest names.
The shock revelation that Brazilian icon Neymar may ply his trade on American shores has unfortunately not come to fruition, with the Seleçao star officially walking away from the negotiating table, per The Athletic’s Tom Bogert.

Neymar, who made his return to the pitch for Brazil after 981 days in their comfortable 3-0 win over Scotland, was left frustrated at the clear lack of progress in talks over a potential move to TQL Stadium.
Cincinnati reportedly never made an official offer to Neymar’s camp, despite Sporting director Chris Albright and president Jeff Berding paying the superstar and his father a visit back in April.
It’s reported that Neymar remains open to an MLS move after his contract runs down with Santos, with the league hoping to add his name to a long list of global superstars who have arrived in recent years.
