The Seattle Seahawks 12th Man has some competition with soccer fans after Belgium supporters at the side’s World Cup round of 32 match against Senegal caused mini earthquakes on Wednesday, July 1.
The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network reported on X during the game at Lumen Field in Seattle that each of the Red Devils’ goals in the second half caused mini earthquakes in the area. Romelu Lukaku got Belgium on the board with a quick strike in front of the net in the 86th minute and the ground shook. Then, in the 89th minute, Youri Tielemans score the equalizer, causing even more seismic activity.
Each of Senegal’s goals, one by Habib Diarra in the 24th minute and one by Ismaïla Sarr in the 51st minute, also registered “vertical ground movement.”

The winner of this match will play the winner of the United States vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32.

World Cup knockout round format
The World Cup becomes a single-elimination tournament once the knockout stage begins. The 32 remaining teams have been placed into a bracket, and the field will halve itself during each ensuing round of the tournament until a winner is crowned.
>The lone exception is that the two semifinal losers will play in a third-place game ahead of the World Cup final.
