2027 five-star point guard Reese Alston named Tennessee in his top seven schools, along with Houston, LSU, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Louisville and Wichita State, according to Joe Tipton of On3.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect is from Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas.

247Sports ranks Alston as the No. 4 point guard in the class and No. 1 player in Texas. Tennessee offered him a scholarship on May 26 and he has not visited the Vols.
UCF was the first school to offer Alston a scholarship on July 13, 2024.
Other Power Four schools to offer him a scholarship include Stanford, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Illinois, SMU, Texas, Washington, Purdue, Florida State, TCU, Arizona State, Maryland, Seton Hall, USC, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Villanova and Ole Miss.
The 2027 prospect is the son of former NBA point guard Rafer Alston. Rafer Alston played for Milwaukee (1999-2002), Toronto (2003-05), Miami (2003-04, 2010), Houston (2005-09), Orlando (2009) and New Jersey (2009-10).

Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2027 basketball recruiting class.
The Vols have four commitments in their 2026 basketball recruiting class: small forward Ralph Scott, power forward Manny Green, point guard Marquis Clark and power forward Chris Washington Jr.
