The Tennessee Volunteers have landed their second commitment of the day, earning a pledge from 4-star offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson. Tennessee beat out Virginia Tech for the commitment on Saturday afternoon.
The 6-5, 330 pound prospect is the 393rd ranked player in the class of 2027, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Volunteers beat out the home-state Hokies for Hudson, who ranks as the ninth overall player in the state of Virginia. He comes from the Chesapeake area.

Hudson held other offers from Kentucky, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Maryland, N.C. State, Pitt and a handful of others. This turned into a two school race, however, with Hudson taking official visits to both Blacksburg and Knoxville in the last couple of weeks. Last weekend’s visit was enough for him to choose the Volunteers.
Hudson is Tennessee’s 15th commitment of the class. He joins 4-star linebacker Kenneth Simon to commit to Tennessee on Saturday, with the Volunteers starting to get a little traction going in the cycle. Hudson is the second offensive lineman to commit to Tennessee in this class, joining 4-star tackle Princeton Uwaifo.
