Purdue basketball‘s lone transfer departure has a new home, at a place that was his old home.

Walk-on guard Aaron Fine committed to Ball State, joining new Cardinals coach Chris Capko‘s first roster.

Fine will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. After redshirting the 2024-25 season, Fine played nine games for the Boilermakers this season, scoring in six of them and shooting 50%.

Fine returns to his childhood home. His father, Matt, was coach at Muncie Central for 10 seasons and led the Bearcats to six sectional titles and two IHSAA Class 4A state finals appearances before coaching at nearby Winchester High School.

He was an Indiana All-Star in 2024 after averaging 17.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and shooting 52%, including 41% from 3-point range, as a senior at Noblesville.
