Texas A&M basketball lands veteran mid-major transfer

Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan is reuniting with Radford guard transfer Lukas Walls, who announced he had committed to the Aggies on Wednesday night on social media. Walls played for McMillan for two years at Samford, transferring to Radford ahead of last season when McMillan left to take over Texas A&M.

Walls played in 32 games, making 26 starts for Radford, averaging 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 23.3 minutes per game. The rising senior shot 52.0% from the floor, 45.5% from 3-point range, and 75.4% from the free-throw line.

He played in 59 games for McMillan at Stanford, playing limited minutes as a freshman before becoming a key member of the rotation as a sophomore. He averaged 4.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.9 assists at Samford. He shot 45.9% from the floor, 43.8% from the 3-point range, and 73.7% from the free throw line.

He is from Knoxville, Tennessee, and is entering his final season of eligibility. He is the second transfer the Aggies have landed so far, joining former Kansas State star guard PJ Haggerty. Walls is unranked as a transfer.
