Emmanuel Acho rips Dallas Wings for handling of Azzi Fudd-Paige Bueckers relationship convo

Emmanuel Acho is never one to shy away from an opinion, and WNBA team Dallas Wings are receiving major flak from the former NFL player over the handling of Azzi Fudd’s relationship with Paige Bueckers.

The former UConn Huskies stars are now playing for the same WNBA franchise after Fudd’s number one selection in the recent WNBA Draft. This comes just one season after the Wings took Bueckers with the first overall pick.

However, Acho’s being extremely critical of Fudd, the Wings and WNBA for its decision to shield the UConn stars. The sports media personality believes that Fudd and Bueckers should answer for their relationship just like male athletes do.

Azzi Fudd deserves to be treated like a woman, yet the PR team babies her.

The entire situation stems from the Wings’ PR team shutting down questions directed at Fudd during her opening press conference. Reporters were seeking insight on the locker room dynamics of the former UConn standout playing games with Bueckers.

Meanwhile, Acho’s stance is clear that Dallas isn’t doing Fudd any favors by how the team “babies her.” In fact, the league should be doing the opposite in order to give players the equality they’re seeking out.

“The WNBA players want to be treated like grown women, yet we keep treating them like babies, and that’s a problem,” Acho said recently. “They want to get paid like the men, attention like the men, respected like the men … stop treating them like little girls.”

The former NFL player is quick to point to notable NBA, NFL and other stars that are constantly being asked about personal relationships. That includes Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James, who plays with his son Bronny James.

Aaron Rodgers ranted to Pat McAfee in recent months about how he tries to protect his wife from media attention. However, the former Super Bowl champion still receives regular inquiries about his spouse.

The dynamics of the Fudd-Bueckers situation are certainly more complex than others in the past, though. Both players already shared a locker room while competing with UConn during their college basketball careers.

Meanwhile, it’s natural that fans and reporters are curious about how it will be working together as professional players. The WNBA season tips off in under a month, and it’s clear this storyline isn’t disappearing.
