Texas A&M is reportedly interested in adding Campbell transfer guard

by

Texas A&M coach Bucky McMillan heads into his first full offseason after taking his first roster completely assembled from the transfer portal all the way to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Houston, and as soon as the offseason began, it was expected that McMillan and his staff would need to rebuild the roster from the portal.

Losing senior forward Rashaun Agee, who led the Aggies in scoring and rebounds, led to the addition of star Kansas State transfer shooting guard PJ Haggerty, who averaged nearly 24 points per game last season, while this week’s news that former Samford/Radford guard Lukas Walls and Tennessee transfer forward Cade Phillips have joined the roster further proves that McMillan and his staff are close to completing the 2026 roster.

Still, the Aggies are in need of three more transfer additions, especially a point guard, and according to college basketball insider Sam Kayser, Campbell combo guard Jeremiah Johnson is now being connected to the Aggies, who reportedly have interest in hosting the transfer sooner rather than later.

Still waiting to hear if senior guard Marcus Hill is eligible to return for a final season, the Aggies’ guard situation is shaky outside of Haggerty and freshman Neiko Mundey, needing more experience and a reliable scorer who shoots at least 45% from the field. Last season, Johnson averaged 15.2 PPG, shot 44.9% from the field, and nearly 38% from beyond the arc.
