Henry Cejudo injured, out of RAF 08 main event vs. Merab Dvalishvili

Tonight’s RAF 08 event has taken a major hit with former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo out of the main event vs. Merab Dvalishvili on short notice.

Cejudo was supposed to take on Dvalishvili in the wrestling mats in Philadelphia in a rematch of their previous meeting under the UFC banner. It will not happen, though, because Cejudo has sustained a last-minute injury that has scratched the headlining matchup.

“Henry Cejudo is out due to injury, and his matchup with Merab Dvalishvili has been canceled,” RAF officials wrote in a statement. “Arman Tsarukyan vs Urijah Faber is now the main event of the evening, with Kyle Snyder vs Rizabek Aitmukhan as the co-main event.”

Cejudo was seemingly in a good spirits during Friday’s RAF 08 press conference, where he took some lighthearted verbal jabs at Dvalishvili.

The nature and significance of the injury is unknown, and RAF did not comment whether there are plans to reschedule Cejudo vs. Dvalishvili for a future event.
