A big center is set to leave a Big Ten college basketball program.
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, USC center Gabe Dynes, who is 7’5, is planning to enter the transfer portal. He spent one season with USC, averaging 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game in 30 appearances and six starts.

Before arriving at USC, he spent two seasons with Youngstown State. His best season with that program came in 2024-25 when he averaged 6.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.1 blocks in 34 games and seven starts.
For his career, he has recorded 4.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Dynes has one season of eligibility remaining.
He’s the fifth USC player to enter the transfer portal this offseason after the program finished the 2025-26 college basketball season with an 18-14 overall record. USC also only won seven Big Ten games.

The Trojans have missed the NCAA Tournament for the last three seasons and haven’t made it since the 2022-23 season, when they went 22-11 and lost in the first round.
Eric Musselman has been the head coach for the last two seasons after spending five seasons with the Arkansas Razorbacks. He led the Hogs to the NCAA Tournament three times before taking the Trojans’ job ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Musselman also coached at Nevada for four seasons, leading the program to three NCAA Tournaments. He has an overall record of 256-125 as a head coach.

We’ll see if he can lead USC back to the NCAA Tournament next season.
