The Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs enter Tuesday’s Game 2 of their first-round series with a clear injury picture. The latest report lists Damian Lillard as out for injury management.
The Spurs opened the series with a 111-98 win on Sunday at the Frost Bank Center.
The Blazers will still lean on a balanced scoring group that produced throughout the regular season. Deni Avdija led Portland at 24.2 points, 6.7 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game, while Shaedon Sharpe added 20.8 points and Jrue Holiday contributed 16.3 points and 6.1 assists.
Donovan Clingan also gives Portland a strong interior anchor, averaging 12.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.
San Antonio’s injury report also includes a single player with Jordan McLaughlin listed out because of a left ankle sprain. The Spurs otherwise look close to full strength heading into Game 2.
San Antonio has more perimeter options to manage the ball and keep pressure on Portland’s defense. De’Aaron Fox averaged 18.6 points and 6.2 assists, Stephon Castle posted 16.7 points and 7.4 assists, and Victor Wembanyama finished the season at 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game.
