WNBA fans seem to have mixed opinions on Caitlin Clark.
Some love her, of course. Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is extremely fun to watch. She’s brought a ton of attention to the league.

Others, meanwhile, seem to have a sour taste in their mouths regarding the attention she gets. Some believe that Clark takes attention away from other deserving players. Others are unhappy with the type of fans that Clark has brought with her.
None of this is Clark’s fault, of course, but it exists.
Even WNBA star Angel Reese has spoken out.
“People are talking about women’s basketball that you’d never would think would be talking about women’s basketball. People are pulling up to games. We’ve got celebrities coming to games [and] sold-out arenas just because of one single game,” she said back in 2024 amid the Clark hype train.

“And just looking at that, I’ll take that role. I’ll take the bad guy role, and I’ll continue to take that on and be that for my teammates, and I know I’ll go down in history. I’ll look back in 20 years and be like: ‘Yeah, the reason why we’re watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person, it’s because of me too, and I want you to realize that.’ Like, it’s just not cause of one person. A lot of us have done so much for this game.”
The Caitlin Clark haters were dealt a hard truth on Wednesday

Clark and the Indiana Fever were placed on national TV in a record-setting way on Wednesday.
The truth is clear: There is no bigger draw in women’s basketball – or women’s sports in general – right now than Caitlin Clark.
The WNBA can hype up other players. Other players can take some credit. But Clark is the No. 1 draw.
The league just proved it with their schedule announcement on Wednesday.
