Olympiacos forward Sasha Vezenkov won EuroLeague Most Valuable Player award in 2025-2026 season after helping his team getting the best regular-season record and and producing one of the most well-rounded seasons of his career.
The MVP award, determined by votes from EuroLeague team captains and head coaches, media and fans, placed Vezenkov ahead of Zalgiris Kaunas guard Sylvain Francisco, who came second, and Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv’s Elijah Bryant, who finished in third position.
Vezenkov’s MVP recognition came from his exceptional all-around performance. Even though he led the league in scoring (19.4 points per game), Olympiacos forward isn’t just a scorer – he’s one of the most efficient forwards in European basketball. He topped the PIR rankings at 23.1 and ranked third in two‑point field goals made (4.9).
What truly separates him is his basketball IQ. Vezenkov reads the game at a high level, constantly finding open spaces and making smart decisions. He’s also a strong rebounder (finished fifth in rebounds – 6.6 rpg.) despite not being the most physically dominant player, showing great positioning and timing.
Another key factor in his MVP-level impact is consistency. Game after game, he delivered for Olympiacos, helping lead them to the best regular‑season record.
Defensively, while not elite, he contributes through effort and awareness. Combined with his offensive efficiency, that balance made him one of the most complete players in Europe at the time.
