As the Indiana Fever opened their 2026 WNBA preseason with a 109-91 win over the New York Liberty on Saturday afternoon from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., how many points did Caitlin Clark score in her first WNBA game action since July 15, 2025?
Despite the dominant 18-point victory over the Liberty, Clark did not fare all too well during her 17 minutes of action, which primarily occurred in the first and second quarters.

During her time on the floor, the Iowa women’s basketball legend scored just seven points on 2-of-10 shooting from the field, 1-for-5 from 3-point territory, and 2-for-2 at the free-throw line, to go along with four assists, three rebounds, and one block.
Despite the former Hawkeye’s lackluster offensive performance in the team’s win, it is still the preseason, and the statistics do not count toward anything that truly matters. The point of the preseason is to allow the league’s players to get into rhythm against live competition while also allowing teams to identify lineup and schematic strategies.

Clark and the Fever will host their first home preseason game of the year on Thursday, April 30 against the Dallas Wings from Gainbridge Fieldhouse at 6 p.m. CT, on ION.
