Northeastern Secures 2027 Verbal Commitment From Backstroker Myra Li 

NEW COMMIT: Northeastern University has registered a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Myra Li of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Li is a backstroke specialist.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Northeastern University! Incredibly grateful to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates who have supported me along the way. Thank you Coach Roy and Coach Bryce for this amazing opportunity. Go Huskies!”

Li trains year-round with Falfins Swimming. She most recently won both the 100 and 200 back at the CO Steve Drozda LC Shotgun Meet last weekend. She earned gold in the 100 back and silver in the 200 back at Boise Speedo Sectionals last month. Last summer, she finaled in the 100m back at Mt. Hood Speedo Sectionals.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 26.80
  • 100 back – 55.30
  • 200 back – 2:00.75
  • 100 free – 51.86

Li attends Nexus International School in Singapore. She won the 100m back at the 55th Singapore National Senior Age Group Championships in March 2025.

Northeastern finished fourth at the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Championships. Li’s best time in the 100 back would’ve scored in the A-final at the conference meet while her best time in the 200 back would’ve scored in the B-final.
