As Iowa women’s basketball continues its offseason, junior transfer guard Dani Carnegie and junior center Ava Heiden have been invited to participate in USA Basketball’s 3×3 development camp and its 3X Women’s Showcase in Phoenix, Ariz.
The USA Basketball 3×3 women’s development camp will be held May 6-8, where women’s basketball athletes under 23 will hone their skills in a competitive and educational environment.

The development camp will be led by veteran USA 3×3 coaches Todd Monsey and Julia Ford in addition to Jonneshia Pineda and Joi Wiliams, who are making their USA 3×3 coaching debuts. Both Carnegie and Heiden are making their USA Basketball debuts.
Heiden had a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 18.0 points per game on 64.1% shooting along with 7.2 rebounds and a team-leading 1.3 blocks, during which she scored in double figures against all 17 Big Ten opponents and finished with 612 points (third all-time by an Iowa sophomore). As a result of her sensational play, she earned AP/USBWA All-America Honorable Mention and first-team All-Big Ten accolades from both coaches and media.
Carnegie, who will join the Hawkeyes next season, was named first-team All-SEC in her sophomore season with Georgia, averaging 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game on 42.7% shooting. Carnegie was also named the ACC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024 with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and an All-ACC Freshman Team choice.

Both the 3X Showcase and 3×3 development camp will serve as an evaluation for selection to future USA Basketball 3×3 national teams and other opportunities.
