A new report is shining some light on what the 2026-27 schedule will look like for the Syracuse Orange.

According to an interview Donna Ditota of syracuse.com conducted with Syracuse Associate AD Pete Corasiniti, Syracuse will play five of its 14 total non-conference games against Power Five opponents. Syracuse still needs to tidy up the details on two games, per Ditota.

So far, prior reports had Syracuse competing in two OOC games versus P5 teams: Indiana in Indianapolis and Providence in Boston. The third game is TBD on the specific opponent, but it’s guaranteed to be a team from the SEC as part of this year’s ACC/SEC Challenge.

The same report by Ditota suggests a fourth P5 opponent would be in Madison Square Garden and while Corasiniti wouldn’t confirm, reports indicate it could be St. John’s. Syracuse is scheduling these games for a reason

“People are like, ‘Why are you playing Indiana in Indiana?” Corasaniti said. “Well, obviously, there’s a good financial package behind it.”

Keep in mind: Syracuse will have extra spots to fill on the schedule after TNIAAM confirmed the Orange would not be returning to the Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas. Syracuse played four P5, non-con opponents in the 2025-26 season: three in the PET (Houston, Iowa State, and Kansas) plus Tennessee at home for the ACC/SEC Challenge.

As for the rest of the OOC schedule, a recent report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports suggests Syracuse will play UAlbany at home and it seems likely that Colgate and Cornell will return to the Dome.

We’ll continue to update you on the rest of the schedule for next season as news comes out.
