
Gulf Coast State College announced May 6 the hiring of Adam Sweeney as the new men’s head basketball coach.
Sweeney joins the team after spending the past two seasons as an assistant at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

Prior to that, Sweeney served as the top assistant at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, and also in Hobbs, New Mexico, at New Mexico Junior College.

“We could not possibly be more excited to announce the hiring of Adam Sweeney,” Mike Kandler, Gulf Coast State’s athletic director, said in a news release. “He was a huge part of the tremendous success that Northwest Florida had while he was on staff, and we truly believe our men’s basketball program is in great hands. I look forward to formally introducing him at a press conference in the near future.”
