Butler basketball adds 2 nonconference games to next season’s schedule

Butler basketball is adding two more nonconference opponents to its schedule, hosting games against Fairleigh Dickinson and Western Carolina at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs will host Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 4 and Western Carolina on Nov. 17. These games join matchups against Lafayette and Bellarmine as confirmed games on Butler‘s 2026-27 nonconference schedule under first-year coach Ronald Nored.

Butler introduces Ronald Nored as next men’s head basketball coach

Nolan Hamilton, a Butler University student and president of the Dog Pound, poses Friday, March 27, 2026, in his Robot Ron outfit in honor or newly named Butler head coach Ronald Nored.

Butler has never faced Fairleigh Dickinson nor Western Carolina in men’s basketball. Fairleigh Dickinson finished last season with an 11-21 record, ranked 336th in the nation per KenPom. Western Carolina finished last season with a 15-16 record, ranked 227th.

Butler’s nonconference schedule appears fairly light heading into Nored’s first season.

Butler’s toughest nonconference games will likely be at North Carolina, and at Boise State. Dates for those games have not been announced.
