The 5-foot-11 playmaker was the first receiver in the 2027 class to earn an offer from Clemson after impressing at camp last summer. He returned to campus for the Elite Retreat in March and is expected back for the May 29-31 official visit weekend.
As a junior, Simmons recorded 59 catches for 932 yards and 14 touchdowns while also throwing for 120 yards and another score. According to 247Sports, he ranks as the No. 61 overall prospect and No. 10 receiver in the 2027 class.
Simmons becomes the ninth member of Clemson’s 2027 class and joins four-star WR Trey Wimbley as the second receiver in the group.
The commitment marks Clemson’s second pledge Wednesday after four-star RB Gary Walker committed earlier in the day. Four-star safety Jarrell Chandler also committed Monday.
