Milan Momcilovic is staying in college basketball, according to Jeff Borzello and Pete Thamel who spoke to his agents. He will not be returning to Ames.
For Iowa State fans the news is bittersweet. The best shooter in program history is still playing college basketball somewhere next season, just not in Cardinal and Gold.

What he did in Ames
The numbers tell the story. In 102 career games as a Cyclone, Momcilovic averaged 13.2 points and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 42.8 percent from three. He was a three year starter and part of the winningest three consecutive seasons in program history.
His junior season was nothing short of historic. Momcilovic averaged 17 points, 3.1 rebounds and an assist per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor and leading the entire nation in three point shooting at 48.7 percent on 7.5 attempts per game. His 136 made threes set a single season school record.
A Second Team All Big 12 selection in 2025-26, Momcilovic arrived as a four star recruit from Pewaukee, Wisconsin and chose Iowa State over Virginia, UCLA, Michigan State and others. He leaves as one of the best shooters in program history and arguably the best shooter in college basketball this past season.
