The timeline for former Iowa State Cyclones forward Milan Momcilovic’s future has just been detailed, and several powerhouse college basketball programs are now pursuing his services. The deadline for players to withdraw from this year’s NBA Draft and retain their collegiate eligibility is today, May 27. With the draft slated for June 23 to 24, the narrative for Momcilovic has been whether or not he stays in college.
Right on the day of the said deadline, collegiate hoops insider Adam Zagoria reported on his X/Twitter page that he has received word that Momcilovic intends to withdraw from the draft. Furthermore, Zagoria noted that Momcilovic will decide where he will play college basketball later this weekend. The Pewaukee, Wisconsin native entered his name into the transfer portal back in mid-April.

With Momcilovic rescinding his draft application, several programs have since emerged as possible suitors for the incoming senior, per On3. Perhaps the most intriguing one of them all are the Kentucky Wildcats, coached by Mark Pope. Throughout the current offseason, coach Pope’s Wildcats have missed out on numerous marquee names in both the transfer portal and players coming out of high school, including now Kansas Jayhawks forward Tyran Stokes.
Wherever he ends up playing in, Momcilovic is set to enter his fourth year of collegiate hoops after spending the last three seasons under the tutelage of coach T.J. Otzelberger and his Cyclones program.
What are the three other schools in contention of snagging Milan Momcilovic?
Besides the Kentucky Wildcats, On3 also reported that the St. John’s Red Storm, the Louisville Cardinals, and the Arizona Wildcats are all in contention of landing Milan Momcilovic. As mentioned, the front-running Wildcats will seemingly uncork desperate measures after its disappointing offseason thus far for Momcilovic. But, the aforementioned programs all have their own cases as well-established teams in different conferences.

All four teams vying for Momcilovic made it to the 2026 national tournament, but it was the Wildcats who had the deepest run as they made it to the NCAA Final Four.
