Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2028 4-star QB who will commit June 25

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko has already proven that he is one of the top recruiters in the country after securing three more commitments in the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, including Florida-based four-star linebacker/defensive end Frederick Ards III, and three-star athlete Loia Valade, who announced their intentions on Tuesday.

While Elko dominated the Georgia recruiting landscape in the 2026 signing class, Florida looks like the new state where the Aggies continue to reel in commits, and looking ahead to the 2028 recruiting class, four-star blue-chip quarterback Neimann Lawrence has narrowed down his options and announced that he will commit to one of five programs on Thursday, June 25.

Entering his junior year at the prestigious American Heritage program in Plantation (FL), Lawrence is widely considered the best quarterback in the state, possessing an elite arm with impressive accuracy and ball placement, and has already received over 30 offers. As it stands, Notre Dame, Miami, Texas, Michigan, and Texas A&M will compete for his commitment for the next three weeks.

Mike Elko offered Lawrence back in September of last year, and after watching the young signal caller throw for 1,971 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just one interception last fall, that decision was a no-brainer. While many believe the Longhorns are the clear favorites, Lawrence has yet to visit College Station, providing Elko and his staff a chance to get him on campus sooner rather than later.
