The Indiana Fever secured an 83-71 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night in the team’s first WNBA Commissioner’s Cup game.
Because Commissioner’s Cup games also count toward the regular-season standings, the win snapped Indiana’s two-game losing streak and improved the Fever to 5-4 on the season. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 25 points, while Aliyah Boston added 19 points and seven rebounds. Caitlin Clark chipped in with 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

For Mitchell, the performance also marked a historic milestone, as she surpassed 5,000 career points. All of those points have come with the Fever since she was selected out of Ohio State in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
Mitchell joined only Tamika Catchings as the second player in franchise history to reach the 5,000-point mark and reflected on the accomplishment afterward.
“Anytime I hear Tamika Catchings, I get humbled, man,” Mitchell said. “She filled a lot of great shoes. … For me, it’s less about the accolade and more about the journey and the process.”

Many of Mitchell’s teammates reacted to the milestone, Clark being one of them which the Fever’s social media got on camera.
“Just super happy for her,” Clark said. “Happy that she’s my teammate, so congrats Kelz.”
Since Clark entered the league in 2024, she and Mitchell have formed one of the WNBA’s most dynamic backcourts. Mitchell remains one of the league’s most underappreciated offensive talents and currently leads the Fever in scoring at 21.1 points per game.
Clark, meanwhile, is averaging 19.8 points and 8.1 assists per contest, giving Indiana one of the most productive guard duos in the league.
