Report: Celebs taking a pass on UFC Freedom 250 event at White House

by

The paparazzi assigned to the UFC event to be held at the White House June 14 could have light work that night. Because several major celebrities are not jumping at the chance to witness history on the South Lawn at the White House.

In fact, Dwayne “The Rock’’ Johnson, Adam Sandler, Jared Leto and Mario Lopez won’t be attending despite getting invitations, according to Vanity Fair.

No word on Tom Brady, Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham —  other celebrities who reportedly got invitations to the event featuring seven fights.

Tickets are expected to be extremely difficult to get with about 4,300 people to be seated in the temporary arena. Dana White, the UFC’s CEO, said President Donald Trump had 1,000 tickets, White had 200 tickets and 200 have gone to Ariel Emanuel, CEO of the holding company that owns UFC.

It’s unclear why the likes of The Rock and Sandler would take a pass. Could it be the gnats? The chance of rain? The 85,000 people expected to watch on big screens across the street?

“The event is a real draw for folks looking to curry favor in Trump’s Washington and for DC’s MAGA crowd, which has delighted in the construction of a giant light fixture called ‘The Claw’ that now towers above the White House,’’ Vanity Fair’s Aidan McLaughlin wrote. “But there is one group that may well steer clear of the event: major celebrities.’’
