NFL Insider shares when a Maxx Crosby-49ers trade could take place
âHowever, Breer believes the 49ers should let the season play out before moving any assets for Crosby this summer:
âBut if I were them, I think Iâd wait a bit before diving all-in. Letâs see how that core looks over the first month or two of the season. The last thing youâd want, I think, is to see a bunch of guys get old at once right after you sold off assets you would need to get younger.â

You wouldnât want to stunt the growth of Mykel Williams, Romello Height, and some of the other young defensive linemen. Thatâs not to say any of them are in the same stratosphere as Crosby. But if they get off to a hot start and look the part, why wouldnât you continue to let them ascend as players?
Now if Mykel is still showing some effects from his injury last year, or if Height looks like a one-trick pony who canât win, then Crosby would be one heck of a fallback option to have.â
Donte Whitner believes 49ersâ signing of Ashtyn Davis is a threat to JiâAyir Brownâs starting role
âI donât think this move was made for him to be a backup,â Whitner said. âHeâs coming to this team to compete for a starting job. I think this was a move to JiâAyir Brown and said, âWe gave you two years as a starter. In this third year, we cannot allow you to be a detriment to our success, and if you start the season the way that you ended last season, we have a bunch of other guys in this locker room that we will replace you with.’â
49ersâ Kyle Juszczyk reveals encouraging George Kittle update, praises Mike Evans, minicamp decision
âGeorge looks great. As he mentioned a couple of days ago, he really is ahead of schedule. He was impressive just last week, seeing him running zig-zag, like making cuts, actually hitting 16 MPH or something like that. Iâve been super impressed. Heâs got another two months or so to get even betterâŚ.Itâs been enjoyable to watch him go through this process because he attacks it as such a professional. He makes it a point to, no matter what weâre doing, even when weâre down in Cabo and weâre celebrating [Christian] McCaffreyâs birthday, and weâre golfing, that guy finds his time to rehab. Whether itâs early in the morning, late at night, he is always, always grinding. Itâs always on the back of his mind. I really do think heâs going to beat some expected timetables. When he does come back, whenever that is, I think heâs going to come out there and be the George Kittle we all know and loveâŚ.

âŚ.. I donât need minicamp anymore. I think he had a good reason. I think the team is in a really good position. Guys are healthy. The young guys have done a really good job since theyâve been there. I just think weâre in a good spot and donât think we needed it right now.â
