FSU safety commit shuts down recruitment after official visit

by

The Florida State Seminoles had several recruits on campus for official visits this weekend, but perhaps the most important was three-star safety commit Jemari Foreman. He’s been heavily pursued lately by another ACC school, the Louisville Cardinals.

Foreman committed to FSU on Sept. 6 of last year, making him the second-longest pledged of the cycle. The Seminoles were determined to keep him committed, especially after losing four-star safety Mekhi Williams. That has become a reality as Foreman has officially shut down his recruitment.

“Thanks to the man above 🙏🏾🙏🏾!! I will be shutting my recruitment down FSU IM ON MY WAY!!🏡🍢,” Foreman announced on social media.

Foreman is the No. 628 player nationally and the No. 61 safety per the 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Florida, he’s the No. 51 prospect.

This is a big win for Florida State. A loss here would’ve forced them to completely start over at the safety spot, seeing as four-star commit Jernard Albright is being recruited as a linebacker.

The next step for FSU is to try to get four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole to commit to the program, and they still feel confident about their chances despite his official visit with the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend.
