We’re at the point in the summer when Duke is sending out basketball videos, and that’s always a lot of fun.
The first video we have focuses on transfer John Blackwell, who is mostly paired with Deron Rippey, so you get double value. There are a lot of other guys in there as well in short bursts.

It’s cool to see because first, Blackwell is talking a lot, and Duke has always put a premium on communication, and second, his new teammates seem to be responding positively to that.
Next up we have a short video of Drew Scharnowski, the transfer from Belmont. A lot of people have said he looks like Cooper Flagg, and to an extent, that’s true, but he has a much more powerful build than does Flagg, at least at this point. The guy is surprisingly muscular.
The third clip is of Cameron Williams, the elegantly talented freshman big man. You’ll see here is quite agile , though still lean. One of the nicer things in this one is at the end, when you start to get a sense of team chemistry, although you also get that in the Blackwell video to an extent.
Williams is immensely promising, and you don’t have to watch long to see it.

Finally, he won’t be in Durham until the National Team is done, but here’s more footage of Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje. What’s interesting about him is that while he will theoretically compete with Williams for minutes, they are not remotely the same sorts of players. Jon Scheyer’s options are going to be crazy.
