Pat Summitt’s legacy is forever. These landmarks prove it

by

Even 10 years after her death, Pat Summitt remains an inextricable part of Knoxville’s identity.

She wasn’t from this city, but what she did in Knoxville was so remarkable that her mark here will endure forever. “The way that Pat is woven into our university, this town, is because of how she represented us and the way that she treated everyone that she came across,” said Morgan Vance, executive director of the Pat Summitt Foundation.

It’s not just a feeling either. There are physical reminders of Summitt at the University of Tennessee and across Knoxville that preserve her legacy. Some are how the community has chosen to recognize her, but some she herself worked hard to leave behind.
