USA Basketball has officially unveiled its 12-man roster for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifying window, with Team USA set to face the Dominican Republic on July 3 and Mexico on July 6.
The roster includes Pedro Bradshaw, Jacob Gilyard, Kevon Harris, Dewan Hernandez, Jay Huff, Mike James, Elijah Pemberton, Orlando Robinson, Matt Ryan, Terry Taylor, Jarrod Uthoff, and Gabe York.
Although the squad features just one current NBA player in Pacers center Jay Huff, several others have NBA experience.
Orlando Robinson, Matt Ryan, and Terry Taylor are among the players who have spent time in the league, while Robinson most recently played on a two-way contract with the Magic before being waived during the season.
One of the most accomplished names on the roster is veteran guard Mike James.
The 35-year-old is a former EuroLeague MVP and the competition’s all-time leading scorer, and he will make his first appearance representing the United States in international play.
Former Rockets head coach Stephen Silas will lead the team as it continues World Cup qualifying. Team USA currently holds a 3-1 record and is entering the third of six qualifying windows ahead of next year’s tournament.
While most of these players are not expected to be part of the final World Cup roster, the qualifying process provides an opportunity for experienced professionals and fringe NBA players to represent the United States and help secure the country’s place in the 2027 FIBA World Cup.
