Jaylen Brown’s name has once again surfaced in major trade conversations, with reports indicating the Celtics have discussed him in potential deals for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
While Boston continues to pursue ways to maximize its championship window, Brown reportedly understands that a trade remains a realistic possibility.
League insiders suggest he has become comfortable with the idea of a new opportunity elsewhere, particularly if it allows him to take on a franchise-leading role.
After Jayson Tatum missed significant time recovering from a torn Achilles, Brown became the focal point of Boston’s offense and delivered one of the strongest seasons of his career.
His performance earned him All-NBA Second Team recognition and placed him in MVP discussions for stretches of the season.
“From what I understand, Jaylen Brown is accepting this and realizes this is a chance to turn the page in his career and he may be getting his own team,” said ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on Monday’s episode of First Take.
“Which is something he’s thought about for some time.”
Brown remains one of the league’s highest-paid players under the five-year supermax contract he signed in 2023, and he will be eligible to negotiate another extension this summer.
If Boston ultimately decides to make significant roster changes, Brown’s value around the league would likely make him one of the most sought-after players available.
