Worrying reports surfaced on Monday, claiming Dustin Poirier had been detained for a public drunk misdemeanor in Atlanta, Georgia, the night before. Now, footage of Poirier’s arrest is going viral, and the two-minute clip is extremely concerning.
During the height of his career, ‘The Diamond’ was considered one of the best 155-pounders in the world. Competing for UFC gold three times, the BMF title once, and capturing the interim belt are just some of his milestones throughout his career, but he is struggling to adjust to retirement. After laying his gloves inside the octagon and bringing an end to his fighting days last year, the now 37-year-old has opened up about the challenges he has faced away from mixed martial arts.

Dustin Poirier revealed that time away from competition has resulted in him getting in his own head. Alongside that claim, a separate video emerged late last year, showing a heavily intoxicated Poirier making fight predictions, but his connection to alcohol is yet to break.
On Sunday, June 21 at 6:38 PM, police were called to a disturbance which involved Dustin Poirier. The Louisiana native was found drunk at an Atlanta airport, being aggressive toward staff and visibly upset when police arrived on the scene.
The altercation escalated once the law enforcement officer recognized him. Poirier became hostile, making threats and spewing profanity, almost to the point of being tazed.
While backup was rightfully called before the situation became physical and Poirier complied when put in handcuffs, seeing a man idolized by millions in such a state has been alarming for fans.

Once news came to light of his mishap on Sunday, the shoe-in UFC Hall of Famer offered an apology to his fans and promised to work on himself.
